Recently, many people have been receiving phishing emails claiming there is a problem with their email account or web hosting space. These messages often say your account has been blocked, suspended, or over quota.
The emails may appear to come from services such as Horde or Roundcube (webmail providers) or from various cloud storage services. They usually include a button or link asking you to click it to remove the block or verify your account.
Do NOT click these links.
These messages are simply scams designed to trick you into entering your email username and password, allowing criminals to access your account.
How D3 Web Design Handles Account Issues
D3 Web Design is a small business, and I personally handle issues such as email or account usage. If there is ever a legitimate issue with your account, I will contact you directly.
D3 Web Design does not send automated emails asking you to reset passwords or unblock accounts.
What You Should Do
If you receive an email claiming there is a problem with your account:
- Do not click any links or buttons.
- Do not enter your login information.
- Delete the email.
If you are ever unsure whether a message is legitimate, feel free to forward the email to me and I’ll take a look.
This also applies to suspicious postal mail, as scammers sometimes send fake invoices or renewal notices.
I’m always happy to help make sure you stay safe online.
